DOMING
Also called bossing, 3D labelling, or permavision, this technique involves depositing a dome of transparent polyurethane resin on to an adhesive surface, printed or not: vinyl, polyester, PVC, Lexan, or Mylar (except paper).
The result obtained gives the effect of a magnifying "lens", and the domed adhesive greatly enhances the appearance of the message, image or logo.
Many sectors make use of doming: automotive, cosmetics, advertising, computers, medical, household appliances, handicrafts, etc., because of its excellent resistance:
- Protection against UV : no yellowing after exposure to the sun,
- Insensitivity to scratches,
- Resistance to weathering,
- Flexibility: labels can be applied to curved surfaces.
